What Is Proximity Key?
by Bernie Weston -
A proximity key (also known as Smart Key, Keyless Go, Intelligent Key or Push-to-Start) is a remote shaped device that permits a keyless entrance and ignition mechanism in your vehicle.
When user is within the appropriate radius, the keyless entry interacts through audio and infrared frequency waves with your automotive to unlock and lock doors and even to crank the engine having the key in the pocket.
In 1998, Mercedes-Benz was the first company to present this technology in their vehicles.
Today, vehicle owners can take advantage of push-button start ignition and key-less entries on nearly all vehicles and use functionality as vehicle antitheft protection, automatic door closing or unlocking, alarm, power windows and many more.
